Morning Fog over the Buffalo

The earth was wet and smelled of mulch. The night's summer rain turned into an early heavy fog. Then the sun peaked over the horizon. With its arrival, the fog coalesced just over the river, the sky still filled with fast moving clouds. The cattle, oblivious of the sight, gobbled up breakfast and kept moving.
